Hungary – Budapest, Szeged, Eger, Opusztaszer, Bukk National Park visited many times in period of 1994 - 2005

It is a land like no other in Europe particularly unique in their language, yet there are so many other aspects to Hungary; hospitality and friendliness among the best of them, because Hungary is a country so diverse with so much to offer. With the Danube River as its pulse, Budapest beats to a rhythm of indomitable spirit cloaked in beauty and charm, and no wonder the Hungarian capital is laid out on both sides of the Danube, claiming one of the most spectacular panoramic views in all of Europe. You can bear witness from the Buda side of the river, on Castle Hill. From here the spires of Parliament and Chain Bridge can be seen. So are the buildings of Castle Hill: the neo-Gothic Matthias Church, surrounded by quaintly restored medieval homes on cobblestone streets; the imposing Royal Palace and the turreted Fishermen’s Bastion that rounds it all off. Driving in romantic small city buses to hilltop Citadel is another opportunity for great view of Budapest. The glittering Vaci utca (street) offers up some of the best shops in the city. The sprawling Heroes’ Square is another sightseeing spot worth to visit. Perhaps the ultimate heaven is Margaret Island. Personally I think best part of the year to visit Budapest is around 20th of August, Hungary national holiday (Foundation Day), during a whole day is festival atmosphere and in the night is wonderful firework best seen from the banks of Danube River on the slopes of surrounding heights.
Some areas of Hungary, which I have visited and recommend to others, are preserved as national parks, including Bukk National Park between Eger and Miskolc, and the Opusztaszer National Historical Memorial Park near Szeged, where the Magyars established Hungary in 896 AD. In Eger is worth to see tourist attraction Minaret, legacy from Turkish rule of this city, once proud fortress of Eger and of course to taste Eger wine.

The Feszty Panorama

“Imagine yourselves standing on a high point overlooking one of the valleys of the Eastern Carpathians, the Voloc valley. According to a historical legend it was here that the Hungarian tribes arriving from the east entered the Carpathian Basin. The gigantic panorama you see before you depicts that historical moment. The Feszty panorama is 15 metres high and 120 metres long. The diameter of the circle it creates is 38 metres.” - Park Guide, National Historical Memorial Park – Opusztaszer.
