Romania - Timisoara, Cluj-Napoca, Bistrita, Sighisoara, Brasov, Sinaia, Bran Castle, Peles, Pelisor, Lake Snagov, Bucharest visited in 2006

Until my wife and I have visited Romania we knew about this inte-resting neighbouring country almost nothing so we have been pleasantly surprised about history, architecture, connections between Serbia and Romania during some history events, and of course possibility to visit, see and hear stories about Dracula myth. Main theme of our journey has been historical facts about Vlad Tepes (Vlad the Impaler) very important figure in Romanian history and legends about vampires that had inspired Irish writer Bram Stoker to create the myth about Dracula, but it is very difficult to stick to just one theme and not to admire the beauty of Cluj-Napoca, Brasov “Salzburg of Romania”, Sighisoara “Saxon Nurnberg” with towers as part of defence system and narrow winding streets and picturesque houses. Buchurest also known as “Little Paris” is story for itself. Personally I have been astonished with Peles Castle in Sinaia and nearby Pelisor “Little Peles”. Peles exterior is combined with several styles but interior with perfectly manufactured furniture is something that is “must see”: The Hall of Honour, Armouries, Council Hall, Study, Florentine Hall, Turkish Salon, Moresque Hall, Theatre and Concert Hall, Imperial Flat and many others will certainly take your breath away.
